For Indiana Governor Mike Pence, last night’s vice presidential debate had nothing to do with defending his running mate. Instead, Pence lied to cover up Donald Trump’s“indefensible” comments, claiming that Trump never said the things he is on record saying. The truth is that “there is no defense” for Trump’s ties to Russia, his belief in punishing women who have an abortion or Pence’s and Trump’s approval of Vladimir Putin being a “stronger leader” than our own president.
“He didn’t say that,” was Pence’s duck-and-cover last night. Oh, but he did.
