Trump Controversy:

In 2015, after Donald Trump became a Presidential candidate, Jorge Ramos pursued an interview with Trump for months. When he sent Trump a handwritten request in June, Trump, who had filed a lawsuit against Univision over its decision to drop the Miss Universe pageant following the candidate’s comments about Mexican immigrants, posted Ramos’ letter on Instagram, which exposed Ramos’ cell phone number. Trump later deleted the post.

At an August 25, 2015 news conference held in Dubuque, Iowa by Trump, Ramos, after attempting to question Trump about his immigration policies without being called on, was rebuffed by Trump. Trump repeatedly told Ramos to sit down and remarked “Go back to Univision.” Security then escorted Ramos out of the conference.

About 15 minutes later, Trump allowed Ramos to return to the conference, where he and Trump engaged in a heated exchange on the issue. Trump later explained that he had not called on Ramos for a question, as he had called on another reporter in the audience. Ramos accused Trump of “spreading hate” with his calls for mass deportations of undocumented families, and repealing birthright citizenship granted by the U.S. Constitution, and questioned the feasibility of Trump’s proposals. He also questioned Trump’s viability as a candidate among Latino voters, citing a poll indicating that 75% of those voters held unfavorable opinions of him.

Michelle Obama’s Birthday is Today — Optimism Rules

Optimism Rules!
–
–
Today is First Lady Michelle Obama’s 52nd birthday.  The photo below was taken at the President Obama’s final State of the Union (SOTU) address on January 12, 2016.  Optimism ruled the day which was certainly welcomed compared to the GOP’s message.
–
The ever-fashionable FLOTUS looked stunning in a marigold-hued, banded-bodice wool crepe midi dress by designer  Narciso Rodriguez.  The dress sold out before the SOTU address was over.

The #GimmeFive challenge
 –

The First Lady challenged everyone to #GimmeFive things they are doing to eat better, be more active, and lead a healthier life. People from across the country joined in the challenge – from kids, families, and schools to celebrities and athletes, like Beyonce, Dwyane Wade, Jack Johnson and so many others.

Even Ellen DeGeneres got in on the fun when the First Lady challenged her to learn the #GimmeFive dance. The So You Think You Can Dance All Stars then joined the First Lady at the White House Easter Egg Roll to perform the dance live on the South Lawn.

You’ll be surprised and by her workout routine as shown in the video clip below from her Let’s Move Initiative 2015 challenge #GimmeFive.
–
First Lady Michelle Obama is an inspiration and positive role model for all of us and her #GimmeFive workout (you’ll be surprised) in the video clip below will motivate us to “keep mov’in”.

Marigold Flower
The flower symbolism associated with marigolds is indicated in the name: Mary’s Gold. Marigold flowers were “golden gifts” offered to the Virgin by the poor who could not afford to give actual gold. Marigolds were used in Mary Gardens.
–
Marigolds are symbolic of passion and creativity. Marigolds are also known as the“Herb of the Sun.” Marigolds have been used as love charms and incorporated into wedding garlands.
–
In some cultures, marigold flowers have been added to pillows to encourage prophetic or psychic dreams. The English name is derived from the flower name, composed of the name Mary meaning “the Mother Ray” and the word “gold.

Michelle, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
