Belgian violinist, Arthur Grumiaux was also proficient in piano  Grumiaux’s successful performance career led up to royal recognition, and in 1973 he was created a baron by King Baudouin of Belgium for his services to music. He passed  at age 65 in 1986

Regina Carter, a Detroit classical and jazz violinist will celebrate her 49th on August 6th.  Carter is a master of improvisational jazz violin. Though her work draws upon a wide range of musical influences – including Motown, Afro-Cuban, Swing, Bebop, Folk, and World – she has crafted a signature voice and style.
