“One of the more strange questions I have been asked is if we really do drink cups of tea on Necker Island. The answer is yes – I drink tea wherever I am!”
While TOMS Shoes is my favorite company; Richard Branson is my favorite entrepreneur–there are other entrepreneurs that  make more money than Richard; however, no one has more fun than Sir Richard Branson.

Excerpts from Sir Branson’s Bio
Sir Richard Charles Nicholas Branson, is an English businessman and investor. He is best known as the founder of Virgin Group, which comprises more than 400 companies.
–
Branson’s parents were supportive of his endeavors from an early age.

The last Laugh

Branson has dyslexia and had poor academic performance as a student, and on his last day at school, his headmaster told him he would either end up in prison or become a millionaire.  Note:  Sir Branson is a multi-Billionaire.

Important Influences

Branson has stated in a number of interviews that he derives much influence from non-fiction books. He most commonly names Nelson Mandela’sautobiography, Long Walk to Freedom, explaining that Mandela was “one of the most inspiring men I have ever met and had the honour to call my friend.”
–
Owing to his interest in humanitarian and ecological issues, Branson also lists Al Gore’s best-selling book, An Inconvenient Truth, and The Revenge of Gaia by James Lovelock amongst his favourites.
–
According to Branson’s book, Screw It, Let’s do It. Lessons in Life, he is also a huge fan of works by Jung Chang. In terms of fiction, Branson has long held an admiration for the fictional character Peter Pan, and in 2006 he founded Virgin Comics LLC, stating that Virgin Comics will give “a whole generation of young, creative thinkers a voice.”

In Richard’s words:
“As my t-shirt proudly points out, Detroit Hustles Harder than anywhere else and it’s the hard work of the local entrepreneurs that will help keep the city on the road to recovery.
–
And of course, we’ll finish the week with the official Virgin Atlantic Detroit inaugural party – can’t wait to hear what music the DJ goes for, in this city he’s spoilt for choice!”

Last year The Purple hosted a Father’s Day Tea last year.  I don’t know their schedule for next week’s Father’s Day; however, it’s a great place to host an event for men because REAL MEN DRINK TEA.
