Bonjour!

Please find two (2) downloadable (PDF) Healthy Lunchtime Challenge Cookbooks that were produced based on each state’s junior chefs including U.S. territories as winning junior chefs and recipes.  Over 1,300 recipes were submitted each year and judged by chefs at the White House..
There are a total  of 108 recipes (54 for 2013) with names like:  “Picky Eater Pita Pizza Pockets, Bring It on Brussels Sprouts Wrap! and Zucchini Pancakes & Passion Fruit Banana Smoothie”..
There are 54 winners for 2012; with recipe names like: “Fish Fueled Pepper Rocket with Kale Chips andQuinoa, Heavenly Lunch Wrap and Kickin Chicken Salad”..
Please Note:  Recipe entry deadline is April 5th for the 2014 Kids’ State Dinner.  (see NCM Blog posts below)

Devanshi, age 12 winner from Texas submitted “Slam Dunk Veggie Burger”.   The recipe located in the 2013 Healthy Lunchtime Challenge Cookbook directly below..
“When I went grocery shopping with my mom, I came across quinoa in the grains 
aisle, so we decided to try it,” says Devanshi“I guess it tastes really good, so my mom and I created a burger recipe, which includes quinoa, a good source of protein”. 
“My healthy and delicious recipe can be served with a side dish of Super Scrumptious Strawberry Salad,” which has spinach, strawberries, and red onion”.
