Hello Everyone:
Satya Narayana Nadella is the chief executive officer of Microsoft.  He was appointed CEO on 4 February 2014, succeeding Steve Ballmer. Previously, he was executive vice-president of Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise group, responsible for building and running the company’s computing platforms, developer tools and cloud services.

Nadella, an Indian-American is an avid reader of American and Indian poetry,  He loves cricket. Growing up he called the sport his passion, and played on his school’s team. And he learned leadership and teamwork from cricket.

As part of the CEO transition at Microsoft, one of Microsoft’s current board members, John W. Thompson is simultaneously taking on the role of Microsoft board chairman.

Thompson is replacing Bill Gates as board chairman. Gates is remaining on the Microsoft board. Ex-CEO Steve Ballmer is staying on the board as well, a spokesperson confirmed. But Gates’ new title is “founder and technology advisor.”

John W. Thompson is the CEO of Virtual Instruments and the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Microsoft Corporation. He is a former vice-president at IBM and the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Symantec Corporation. During his tenure as CEO of Symantec, he was the only African American leading a major technology company. Thompson later became an independent director on the board of Microsoft and on February 4, 2014 he was named the Chairman of the board. He was leading the search for Microsoft’s next CEO.
In a video clip of below, Thompson states that Nadella was the search committee’s “first and unanimous choice” after reviewing all the CEO candidates.
