Bonjour!
For those of you that like the convenience of Cyber Shopping; but want to do some socializing; why not have a CYBER SHOPPING SOCIAL.
Your social need not be as elaborate as the White House’s holiday parties which will host 70,000 guests through December 20, 2013.  However, I love the idea of duplicating their 2013 holiday theme “Gather Around: Stories of the Season.”
 –
My first Cyber Monday shopping several years ago was around conversations, light refreshments while sipping wine.
 –
Invite your family, friends and neighbors over for holiday on-line gift shopping while listening to holiday music, telling stories and/or baking holiday treats.
 –
If younger children are invited provide them with their own area or room for crafting holiday decorations and cards.
 –
This is also a wonderful concept for seniors and/or physically challenged individuals for whom shopping in malls and even their own neighborhood shops for gifts is just to taxing.

East Room: Wreath with hand-made roses
Garlands of greens twined with the faux jewels and more golden roses were draped over the doorways and on fireplace mantels.  As in past years, many of Mrs. Obama’s decor elements pay tribute to members of the Armed Forces.

Bo and Sonny enjoying a story of the Season – 2013

First Lady Michelle Obama on Wednesday unveiled this year’s White House holiday theme, “Gather Around: Stories of the Season.” The White House has created an illustrated tour book explaining the decorations in each room, which features Bo and Sunny on the cover.  The two are also memorialized in the decor.  CLICK HERE to download the tour book {PDF}.  *CLICK HERE for links to all holiday posts.
