TOMS SHOES a “Socially Conscious” Business Model was started in 2006 by Founder and Chief Shoe Giver Blake Mycoskie.
The “One Day Without Shoes” challenge was conceived in 2008 to get the word out about the plight of children around the world and in the United States who do not have shoes.  I participated 2010 and  2011will again in April 2012.  It certainly is the most unique, fun and rewarding challenges I have participated in.  .  
One Day Without Shoes challenge has grown to over 1,000 events in 25 countries with more than 250,000 people participating.  Over 100 businesses have partnered with TOMS SHOES for the annual One Day Without Shoes campaign challenge.
